My name is Adrienne! I'm someone who's always had a love for teaching, even as a kid. I remember spending my weekends teaching in my pretend “classroom”, complete with an overhead projector, homemade worksheets, and a classroom library! After graduating from Miami University (go Redhawks!) in 2010 with a degree in Early Childhood Education, I started teaching 2nd grade outside of Washington DC.
I quickly realized that I wanted to specialize in literacy instruction, which led me to pursue a master's in School Library Media from Longwood University while still teaching. I took a new path in education and became an elementary librarian. Surrounded by books and teaching language arts skills to K-5 students, I loved seeing early learners find joy in reading. I earned a TESOL graduate certificate from George Washington University to better instruct all learners in our diverse community.
After 12 years of teaching and 2 kids later, I'm continuing my education career in a different way. I'm excited to share my passion for literacy to support teachers, parents, and librarians in growing readers in classrooms and at home. Thank you for joining me on this literacy journey!
